Night flees, the curly haze of the mountains falls and
melts to gold, and light awakens the world!
Night still blankets the high, glaciated mountains when the ascent commences after a quick breakfast. Only the tiredness and the crunching of the crampons accompanies the mountaineer and his companions, until the force of the rising sun scares away the deep thoughts. The moment feels like a dialogue with the mountain. The only way for the mountaineer is forward, maybe a goal. The climbs to the high peaks require a merging of the many facets of mountaineering; walking, rock climbing, ice climbing all combine into a discipline. The highest point is just a stopover, because after every descent is a new alpine route.
